Extended Day: Fun Times with Teachers and Friends after School

Imagine during the transition time between school and home, you could stay with a fun aunt who practiced the values of Mustard Seed along with some of your school friends. That scenario is how we envision our Extended Day Program.

  • Offered 3:00-6:00 pm on regular school days

  • Safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment serving MSS Kindergarten to Grade 5 students

  • Students will engage in supervised activity periods in the classroom, community room, studio, gym, Church Square Park, and the greater Hoboken community

  • On a typical afternoon, students may eat their snack brought from home, participate in a group activity like making butter from milk, enjoy hula hoops at park time, and then work on their homework or read a book with their teacher

  • Students will be escorted to and from enrichment activities held in the building like private piano lessons

  • For more information, pricing, and to enroll, please contact naberg@mustardseedschool.org.

Excursions

In addition to their regular schedule, Extended Day students also participate in special activities and local field trips in Hoboken.

Hoboken Library Reception
When the new library cards arrived, Mustard Seed collaborated the Hoboken Library to host a reception in the library’s garden courtyard. Some families met their children at the library to celebrate the presentation of the new cards by the librarian with them. Hoboken Library, located adjacent to Church Square Park and within walking distance of the school, is a frequent center for MSS field trips and activities. Extended Day students return to the library often to check out books.

Hoboken University Medical Center
Students created dozens of Thanksgiving cards and hand-delivered them to the Medical Center to cheer patients, staff, nurses and doctors during the holidays.
