I will be attending Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Fine Arts to earn my bachelors of architecture (B.Arch) which is a five-year professional degree. I chose architecture because it allows me to use the left side of my brain with the right, and be a problem-solver in an artistic way. At CMU, I hope to take classes in urban planning and sustainable design. Sustainability and making sure my designs are “green” are priorities of mine.

Last year, I studied abroad in Indonesia on a State Department scholarship, I learned a lot about intercultural understanding and connecting with people from different backgrounds. Living in a developing country also made me curious about economic aspects. How does an economy become mature and develop a high standard of living for its citizens? This fall I’ll be attending Earlham College, where I’ll be majoring in Economics as well as continuing to learn about other countries and cultures.

I’ll attend Bard College in the fall and major in Political Science or International Relations. My plans include law school and possibly working for the Justice Department. I have the goal of becoming a U.S. Foreign Service Officer or a State Department staffer. I’ve been very active in the model U.N. program at High Tech High School.

I’ll be attending the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. I plan to major in Economics at the Academy, but the core curriculum there is also very intensive in other sciences like biology, chemistry, physics, and behavioral science. After I graduate, I plan on going through pilot training, though I am not exactly sure what type of plane I want to fly. I was a recruited athlete (for fencing), and I am pretty sure that I will be starting for the team next year in the intercollegiate circuit. I will also be participating in North American Cups run by USA Fencing.

I head to Spelman College in the fall to study documentary filmmaking. I love capturing history and telling people’s stories. I want to document what’s going on today in media and politics. And to give a voice to the voiceless. I plan to become an RA so that I can continue to mentor others. Currently, I’m a team leader at New City Kids. I teach bass drums and keyboard to younger children and I’m a middle school tutor. I like being someone others can look up to and ask for help.

I’m currently a double major in Finance and Marketing at the University of Miami. Last summer I had an internship with a clean energy provider. This summer, I hope to obtain an internship in the music business. While I’m still very uncertain about what career path I will pursue, I’ve always loved music and can see coming to work excited every day should I end up doing some form of music marketing. I’m also very involved in fundraising for the Children’s Miracle Network through my fraternity.
