Our Program
We offer a part time program for three and four year old children. Our classes include two mornings (Tuesday/Thursday), 3 mornings (Monday/Wednesday/ Friday) and 5 mornings. We introduce children to themes of study and then, guided by the teachers, they develop their own investigations. Children meet as a whole group, but also in small groups and independently to pursue their ideas.

Play is the work of young children in school. At times their physical energy seems boundless, fueling their need to move, which in turn develops muscle strength, balance and coordination. As they move they learn about space and orientation, push and pull, speeding up and slowing down, all the while developing agility and dexterity. As they learn to control big body movements their ability to coordinate smaller movements grows. This is the time to encounter building with blocks, cutting with scissors, pouring water, manipulating tape and clapping patterns. In a high technology world these activities are undervalued, but they are foundational skills for solid learning.

We nurture a love of story and language. Rhymes and poetry allow children to play with language and build vocabulary. We teach the language of greeting, apology, emotion, encouragement and problem solving, which develops healthy social skills.

Our curriculum integrates faith and the arts. Children communicate their learning with a variety of art materials: paint, clay, pencils, crayons, chalk, wire etc. Movement, drama, and music are part of the day as well.
