Building Futures
You can help build futures . . .
On April 21, 2012, Mustard Seed will host a banquet to benefit the school’s Financial Aid Fund. Each year supporters at the Building Futures banquet make it possible for dozens of children to attend MSS. Last year, 120 people attended. Together they gave $131,000, which was matched by an anonymous donor. The total raised was $256,000. This was over and above the ticket price of $100. The money raised provided 40% of the Financial Aid Fund for the school year.

Asteroids, Comets, and Growing Young Scientists
Come hear Dr. Daniel Scheeres speak at the Building Futures Fundraiser Banquet
Star Wars. Aliens. Space travel.
Children are naturally drawn to the sky with wonder, curiosity and imagination. But what do we really know about what exists beyond Earth? What does it tell us about ourselves and where we came from? In his talk, Dr. Scheeres will explore cutting edge celestial science and how to use the natural curiosity of children to build young scientists.
About the Speaker
Dan Scheeres is the A. Richard Seebass Endowed Chair Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering Sciences at the University of Colorado at Boulder and a member of the Colorado Center for Astrodynamics Research. Scheeres’ research interests spans the dynamics, control, and navigation of spacecraft trajectories, the design of space missions, optimal control, planetary science, celestial mechanics and dynamical astronomy. He is a member of the science team on the NASA Near Earth Asteroid Rendezvous (NEAR) mission and the Japanese Hayabusa mission to asteroid Itokawa. He is the author the book Orbital Mechanics in Strongly Perturbed Environments and an international speaker.
