One Community

First and foremost a community

Mustard Seed School is a community of interdependent learners and sojourners. The school is structured enough to provide a secure and stable learning environment, yet flexible enough to accommodate a shifting population and varying practical needs.

Classes are large enough for independence but small enough for personal attention.

Mustard Seed School includes students in Kindergarten through Grade Eight. Class size does not exceed 22. Such classes are large enough to encourage independence and small enough for personal attention.

Mustard Seed School students bring diverse gifts and talents, including a considerable range of academic abilities. Our school includes some children who are eligible for special educational services and some students who are physically challenged. The school community is enriched by including students with special needs where possible.

With many of our students speaking languages other than English at home, the school is particularly aware of "the needs of bilingual children. Many of the school celebrations underline the beauty of different languages and cultures within our community.

Mustard Seed students and staff are bound together as members of a community that celebrates frequently and heartily.
