Shared Space Extension (4&5)
As in the Lower School’s Shared Space, children continue to express and present their learning through a variety of media.
In response to their growing curiosity and desire for competence, children are also expected to deepen their understanding through research (using personal, print, and digital sources) and to stretch their skills through the use of increasingly complex forms of expression. At the same time, they are developing important personal and academic habits: the habit of meeting deadlines, being on time, sticking to a task, overcoming frustration, hearing what others have to say, and more. It is in the process of completing these long-term, independent and cooperative academic projects that students also develop the habit of taking risks with confidence, exceeding their own expectations, and celebrating one another’s accomplishments.
